Historical Author

After graduating from Baylor University with a BA in history, Courtenay Abigail Harrold, pursued writing on the side until she was accepted into the history graduate program at the University of Edinburgh. Following her acceptance into the medieval Scottish history program, Courtenay was able to pursue both travels and studies while living abroad in the United Kingdom. Traveling to such locations as London, the Scottish Highlands, and County Galway, Ireland enabled her to better understand the culture and countries that had always fascinated her. During the last leg of her academic journey abroad, Courtenay discovered her first novel Rose Doyle, was to be published.

Thus far, Rose Doyle has received positive feedback from readers and reviewers. Courtenay was invited to speak at the Brandeis University National Women's Committee Book and Author Luncheon in March of 2006, where she spoke alongside authors Michael Henderson and Jane Heller, author of An Ex To Grind. She was also featured at a Baylor University Bookstore signing during Homecoming 2006, where she was invited to promote Rose Doyle. More recently, in 2007, Courtenay was invited to sign with Bennett and West Literary Agency. Agent Joan West will be representing Courtenay's new novel, Sea Swept Innocence, a historical romance set in the Caribbean during 1751. Further details and sample chapters will be available shortly.

In the meantime, Courtenay will be relocating to Waco, Texas in August 2007 to pursue another Master's degree in history. Her long term academic plans include the pursuit of a doctorate in history, while still writing historical romance and fiction.
